Inspired to Create More Animal ArtIt's been a while since I last posted because I've been a doing a wee bit of traveling. The wife and I took a couple of weeks to do some exploring. We both took some time away from work to unwind, relax and recharge the batteries. We decided to drive down the Eastern coastline of the North America. I was also secretly hoping to get inspiration that would help fuel the fire for my animal art series. I find with any great adventure, the best trips have a loose plan. We knew we had ti be back at a certain time and we had a few spots we really wanted to see. Other than that, we left our trip up to spontaneity! The first place we stopped was Mystic Connecticut. Yes, you know the place where the movie Mystic Pizza with Julia Roberts was based. Yes, of course we did the touristy things and stopped in and at the Mystic Pizza restaurant. The pizza was pretty good and they had the movie on repeat. :) We also stopped in at the Mystic Aquarium, which to my surprise, was actually pretty cool. There was a decent amount of cool sea animal creatures here! For instance we saw: Beluga Whales, Sea Lions, Sharks, Jelly Fish, Turtles, Sting Rays, and much more! Yes, I will be incorporating some of these animals into some upcoming animal art projects! From their we ventured on to Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Washington, DC! We spent some time on the ocean and the beach relaxing, along with visiting some classic city spots. The Smithsonian's National Zoo was a bit of a let down as most of the animals weren't available but the Baltimore Aquarium was amazing and much better than the Mystic Aquarium. We also went to a couple of art museum's, which was awesome to see some new artists as well as some of the famous artists I look up to. Order custom animal art prints. Viewing some new art and old famous art pieces gave me the inspiration to create more and the confidence to keep going! I am so excited to create more artwork and I am really happy to stay focused on the animal art I have been working on. I want to focus more on animal art series and take it to the next level. Here is one of the watercolor drawings I created a year ago that is a part of my animal art series. The trip was a blast and we both enjoyed exploring some parts of the country we haven't visited yet. I also got a ton of inspiration that I am going to use in creating more animal artwork! Most of you know that pictures are worth a thousands words, so here are a few of my favorites from the trip. Here is our journey captured via some of the photos we took along the way.
