My Adult Coloring Book

Adult Coloring Book – A humorous coloring book for adults.

Over the past few months, I have been working on an adult coloring book. While coloring books are perceived as "childish" and "only for kids," adult coloring books have become super popular over the past few years. This is probably due to the pandemic and everyone being bored, but I think it has more to do with the fact that coloring is fun, relaxing, and helps reduce anxiety levels! An article by the Cleveland Clinic discusses how coloring can help relax your brain and reduce stress levels. They also reference a study conducted with cancer patients using Art Therapy to help relieve stress through coloring and other art activities.

Inspiration for my Adult Coloring Book

​When I was a kid, like most of us, I loved coloring books. I found it fun using crayons, markers, and colored pencils to color in the fun patterns and worlds illustrators and artists had created. I would get lost coloring in and outside of the lines on the paper, and I also found it funny to change the color of a sea creature, sky background, or any object to purple, blue, or pink. My childhood was colorful, and I loved looking through the original drawings and making my coloring pages. I feel that this experience significantly impacted pursuing this passion of being an artist and children's book illustrator. 
Over the years, I have created many fun art and detailed illustrations that get viewed once or added to Instagram and Facebook and then fade into the ether. So, I decided to compile some of my favorite illustrations from over the years as well as a few newer designs for coloring and created an adult coloring book.

When I started thinking about creating a coloring book for adults, I had two goals in mind:
1. My adult coloring book needs to be fun and different from others
2. Include drawings that make me smile and could bring joy to others

After several months of reviewing some of my older illustrations and finalizing the cover design for the book, I am proud to announce that I have launched my first coloring book for adults on Amazon.
