My First Wordless Picture BookI have been working on a wordless picture book over the past few weeks and the inspiration for the story came while I was diligently working away in the studio drawing. So, there I was, sketching away like a mad artist without any intentions or plans on creating a story. I then focused on a couple of characters I really liked from my sketchbook and started to draw them again, and again, and again. Over the past year I have been working on two other kids books. One book is about health and healthy eating and the other is about being creative and using your imagination. I have also been toying with the idea of creating a wordless picture book and one thing lead to another and I started creating some more art. Randomly a few weeks ago I had an "a-ha" moment and I started putting the pieces together and created a rough outline of the story. It's funny how things happen and how this story without any words at all came together. Here is the first drawing of my new story and kids book. The thing I like about wordless picture books is that the reader is able to build and create their own story -guided by the illustrations- and use their imagination to create a story they love. And they can creative an entirely different narrative. Build your own story! Over the past few weeks, I have been posting the images on instagram and I am now going to be posting them here on the site. I am still working on a name for the book and I would love your input and suggestions. Some of the ideas I have going are: Puppy Love, The Lost Puppy, Journey Walker. I plan on compiling all the images and making this wordless kids book available for purchase on Amazon. Here are the next three images in the story. I would love to hear your thoughts on my progress so far and if you want to skip ahead on the story, follow me on instagram and see what happens next. Join the art party on instagram!
If you like those, you are going to love these here. Are you on Tumblr?
