Wordless Picture Book: Puppy Meets Alien

This is a new experience and adventure for me. Creating a kids book with out words. A wordless picture book seems easy enough right? I mean, I have been drawing my entire life so this should be a snap.

The truth is, creating a picture book without words can be difficult if you don't map out the story and provide the "reader" all the necessary images to complete the story. A picture is worth a thousand words, if illustrated correctly.

Here is the next set of images in my digital wordless kids book.

I don't know if I am developing the illustrations and the story in as much detail as I should, but I wanted to experiment with a minimalist approach to a wordless kids book. This has been a lot of fun so far, especially as this is my first attempt. 

Last week, the puppy was just walking, and walking, and walking all by himself. He was alone but kept a positive mindset that he would figure out what he is suppose to do and or what he is suppose to do.

The story continues here with the puppy on his journey. He's been lonely up until this point. Until he encounters an alien. 

Scared but intrigued because he hasn't been around or seen anyone in quite some time, the puppy starts to approach the alien.

The alien, seemingly harmless, advises that they continue along the path. 

Feel free to print these up and add your own dialogue or story. That's what is so great about wordless picture books, you or your children have the ability to be creative and create your own unique story. :)
