Surrealist and Abstract Painting by Mimo Art
I never painted in high school because I lacked the control that one acquires through practice. I didn't like the fact that I wasn't able to make the transition from drawing with a pencil or pen to drawing with a paint brush. I felt it should be the same thing and I didn't like the way I wasn't able to control the brush strokes and paint to look a certain way. It was frustrating so I stuck with drawing.
I really started painting when I entered college. I took my first class -Painting I- and I really liked it. I was surprised that I was able to have some control over this medium so many years later. Painting I was a technical, beginners- How-to class. Painting II & III is where I really started to get in deep. I started to peel back the layers and allow myself to let go. I am constantly pushing and pulling myself from reality to abstraction and back again based on how I am feeling.
I have said this before and I will say it again, I don't know how anyone can create in one style their whole lives. We change everyday and although there are times when I like to create in the same style, but for the most part, I get bored doing the same thing over and over. I need to create something realistic and then move on to a nice abstract piece.
I am only selecting a few of my paintings to produce prints of and they are available here.
I am still working on my site and shopping cart. If you would like to purchase an original painting, please email me with the name of the artwork.
